Almost every "my eSIM doesn't work" comes down to one setting that's off - usually Data Roaming on the travel line, or the phone still trying to use data through your Israeli line. The plan itself is almost never the culprit. So run the checklist in order before assuming something's broken.
Go in order - stop the moment you're connected.
The plan only starts once you connect to the local network at the destination. Make sure Airplane mode is off, and that roaming is on for the travel line (the eSIM). iPhone: Settings › Cellular › pick the plan's line › "Data Roaming". Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › the plan's line › "Roaming" (Samsung: Connections › Mobile networks › "Data Roaming").
If you also have an Israeli line, the phone needs to know data goes through the eSIM. iPhone: Settings › Cellular › "Cellular Data" › pick the plan's line, and turn off "Allow line switching". Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › "Mobile data" › pick the plan's line (Samsung: Connections › SIM manager).
Sometimes the phone won't pick a local network by itself. iPhone: Settings › Cellular › the plan's line › "Network Selection" › turn "Automatic" off. Android: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › the plan's line › "Automatically select network" › off (Samsung: "Network operators"). Then choose a local network from the list; if the first won't connect, try the next.
On iPhone the APN sets itself. On Android you sometimes have to type it in, and the APN differs from plan to plan - which is why it isn't printed here: open your private order page, tap "check remaining data", and your plan's APN appears there. Enter it under Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › the plan's line › "Access Point Names" (iPhone: Settings › Cellular › the plan's line › "Cellular Data Network"). If the field is locked on your device - message us.
After any settings change - power the phone off and on (or toggle Airplane mode for 15 seconds). This forces the phone to reconnect to the local network and clears a good share of cases.
Usually a display issue, not a code issue. Raise brightness, clean the camera, or show the QR on a second screen. No second screen? You can enter the code manually from the order details instead of scanning.
Almost always Data Roaming is off, or the phone hasn't picked a local network yet. Turn on Data Roaming for the plan's line and do a manual network selection (steps 1 and 3 above), then restart.
You have signal but pages won't load - almost always the data line or the APN. Confirm the eSIM is the data line (step 2) and check the APN (step 4). If you turned on "Low Data Mode / Data Saver", switch it off for a moment just to test - it sometimes blocks the very first load, and you can turn it back on once you are online.
Went through everything and it still won't work? Don't keep reinstalling - message us on WhatsApp with your model and country, and we'll solve it with you step by step.
WhatsApp supportUsually not. On most plans the "clock" starts from the first connection at the destination, not from install. If the device connected by mistake in Israel, just turn off Data Roaming on the plan's line until you land. Unsure about your specific plan? Message us and we'll check.
It doesn't "interfere", but if it's set as the data line the phone will try to browse through it (and charge you expensive roaming). Set the eSIM as the data line, and turn off cellular data on the Israeli line so it won't browse by accident. Calls and SMS to Israel keep working as usual.
No. The eSIM works with no VPN at all. A VPN only matters if you want to reach geo-blocked Israeli content or encrypt your browsing - that's a separate choice, not a condition for connecting.
Reinstalling is almost never the fix, and it sometimes fills up your eSIM slots for nothing. If steps 1-5 didn't help, the problem is almost always a specific setting we can spot together - message us on WhatsApp instead of reinstalling again.
You installed the eSIM back home - great. Now comes the short, important part: switching it on the moment you land, so you leave the airport already connected. Two small actions, and that's it.
