What is an eSIM?
A digital SIM that's already built into your phone: no card to swap, no kiosk queue, and your Israeli SIM stays in the phone. Here's how it works, in plain language.

The chip is already inside the phone. A data plan is loaded onto it digitally - by scanning a QR code or tapping a button.
The eSIM works alongside your Israeli SIM and provides data only, so browsing abroad runs on the eSIM. Your Israeli number stays in the phone; for calls and messages use WhatsApp and similar apps over the eSIM's data.
You install at home, on Wi-Fi. The plan starts counting only when you first connect at the destination - not at purchase or install.
Pick a destination and a plan size. No signup, no app.
Within seconds: a QR code, an install code and a short guide.
Five minutes on Wi-Fi, best done the day before the flight. Installing does not start the plan.
Turn on the new line and its data roaming setting - connected within a minute.

The rule of thumb: iPhone XS and newer, and most Android phones from 2020 on. The phone must be carrier-unlocked (phones bought in Israel in recent years usually are).
Check your exact modelNo. The eSIM is added alongside your Israeli line, which stays in the phone and isn't lost. The eSIM provides data only, and abroad your browsing flows through it - so there are no data charges on your Israeli line.
Nothing - that's the beauty of it. WhatsApp is tied to your number, and your Israeli number stays yours. Messages and WhatsApp calls work as usual, over the eSIM's data.
For most travelers 5GB covers one to two weeks: navigation, WhatsApp, social and searches. 3GB fits a short trip; 10GB is for heavy video uploads or working on the go.
Yes. Your QR code and codes are saved on your private order page, so if you deleted it or changed phones you can reinstall from there. The eSIM is meant to run on one device at a time.
Most iPhones from the XS up and most Android phones from 2020 on support eSIM. The device must be carrier-unlocked. You can check your exact model with the compatibility checker in the store.
