An Air Waybill (AWB) is the official shipping document used for international air cargo. It is a non-negotiable contract between the shipper and the airline, containing all shipment details: origin, destination, weight, declared value, and cargo contents.
The AWB number consists of 11 digits – a 3-digit airline prefix followed by an 8-digit serial number. For example: 114-12345678 (El Al) or 700-12345678 (CAL Cargo). This number is your key to tracking your shipment from origin to destination.

An AWB (Master Air Waybill) is issued by the airline to the freight forwarder. A HAWB (House Air Waybill) is issued by the freight forwarder to the final customer. For tracking at the terminal, the AWB number is used.
