How much is a taxi from Ben Gurion Airport?
A realistic estimate based on the official taxi meter - from the airport to your destination, or from anywhere in Israel to the airport.
How we calculated
Getting to the taxi rank
After passport control and collecting your bags, exit the arrivals hall on the ground floor through Gate 03. The official taxi rank is right outside, on the sidewalk opposite the gate - same floor, no need to change levels, and nothing to book in advance.
Pre-booked pickup (via the app): the pickup point is on the 2nd floor, Gate 23.
The taxi rank is just outside the arrivals hall, next to the exit. The ride is metered here too. Terminal 1 handles low-cost and domestic flights; check which terminal your flight uses.
The official operator of the rank is Gett (it won the tender). Payment is by meter - the Ben Gurion surcharge is already included.
People sometimes approach in the hall offering "Taxi?" at a fixed price - that is not the official service. The official service is the organised rank; just walk up to it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a taxi from Ben Gurion Airport to Tel Aviv cost?
A metered ride from the airport to central Tel Aviv usually costs about ILS 120 to 180 on the day tariff, depending on the exact destination and traffic. The calculator on this page estimates the fare for your destination using the real distance and drive time plus the official Ministry of Transport tariff.
How much is a taxi to Ben Gurion Airport?
A metered ride to the airport uses the same official tariff as a ride from it, but without the Ben Gurion surcharge - that surcharge is only charged on rides departing the airport. So a ride to the airport is slightly cheaper than the return ride on the same route at the same time. To estimate it, choose the "To airport" direction at the top of the page and enter your starting point.
How is the estimate calculated?
The estimate uses the official meter formula: a flag-fall opening charge, a per-kilometre rate, a per-minute rate and the airport surcharge. We take the distance and expected drive time from Google for the destination you enter, so you do not need to know the number of kilometres yourself.
Is the price exact?
No - it is an estimate only. The meter runs live, and the final price depends on the route the driver takes, the actual traffic and any waiting time. That is why we show a price range rather than a single number.
What is the difference between tariffs A, B and C?
The tariff is set by the day and time. Sun-Thu, tariff A (day) applies 06:00-21:00 and tariff B (night) from 21:01. Late on Thursday (from 23:01), on Shabbat/holiday eve (from 21:01) and after Shabbat, the highest tariff C applies. On Shabbat and holidays the rate is higher throughout the day. The calculator picks the correct tariff for the time you choose.
Does the price include road tolls?
No. The estimate excludes road tolls such as Route 6 or the Route 1 fast lane. If the route uses them, there may be an additional charge on top of the estimate.
Which taxi operates at the airport rank and how do I pay?
The organised taxi rank at Ben Gurion Airport is run by Gett as the official operator. The ride is charged by the meter, and you pay in cash or by credit card. No pre-booking is needed - you go to the organised rank as you exit the arrivals hall.
